To appeal to Christmas shoppers in 1902, New York writer & socialite Ethel Mumford and Florida architect Addison Mizner published the first Cynic's Calendar for 1903. They added the name of Oliver Herford, 'The American Oscar Wilde', as an author and the title was a success. (Naturally, Herford sued for 90% of the royalties when he got wind of the story.) At any rate, the Calendar appeared every year for a decade or so. This edition for 1908 is uncommon.
