Hauniae (Copenhagen): Ejnar Munksgaard, 1953-1966. First Edition. Two-volume set, complete but only covering alpha through omicron. Small 4to. 6.625 x 9.75 in. 509; 823, [1] pp. Salmon cloth, with black skiver labels titled & ruled in gilt affixed to spines. Text in Greek and Latin. Very good. Light edgewear & soiling to covers, with heavier rubbing to the spine labels of Volume One. A well-preserved ex-library set, with only a few stamps & no pockets etc. Bindings square & tight, texts clean & bright.

The only two volumes published of the original projected five-volume set, edited by German classical philologist Kurt Latte (d. 1964). A significant work of Greek philology. 'A textual base which meets modern standards was not established before Kurt Latte's epoch-making edition, based on a new collation of the sole existing ms. together (for the first time) with the parallel base of what is known as the Cyrillus Glossary (Vol. 1: Alpha-Delta 1953, Vol. 2: Epsilon-Omikron postum 1966). The continuation of Latte's edition was commissioned by the Royal Danish Academy and undertaken by Peter Allan Hansen; the edition will be completed by Ian C. Cunningham. A 5th volume with indexes and addenda to vols. 1-4 is in the planning stage' (de Gruyter). A scarce set.
